Geoweb® Enterprise Application Framework is the platform for the development of powerful technical management applications. It allows you to quickly configure an extremely large number of application cases thanks to ready-made features and interface components.

The Geoweb design is guided by a careful analysis of all the technological and format standards that make it possible to structure the information in ‘universal’ and non-proprietary data models, as well as to guarantee the possibility of interoperating between different software.
The wide and flexible configuration system, the tools for loading data and those for creating management masks, the integrated reporting engine, are just some of the modules available for a quick implementation of any web management application.
The interoperability protocols and standards adopted allow for easy integration with all company tools in use. Starting from design standards (CAD and GIS systems) up to integration with ERP software, document systems, etc.
For the description of the processes, a workflow engine that uses the BPM2 format has been integrated into Geoweb. This allows the user to define their business logic according to international standards and to use one of the many process design tools to model them and keep them always updated.
Being developed on the web framework, Geoweb applications have a longer life cycle.

In writing the product, only free-software OpenSource components and libraries were used, without limitations of use and included in the licence for use of the final Geoweb Framework product.
The types of user licences available are:
- Enterprise Licence: commercial licence for small and large organisations;
- OEM Licence: Developer licence.
OpenSource or commercial infrastructure
Geoweb Framework was conceived and designed to work on IT infrastructures completely created through the use of OpenSource software (operating system, database environments, document system, application server, web server, etc.).
This feature allows you to use Geoweb without having to introduce additional licence costs for basic software.
Alternatively, Geoweb can be installed on IT infrastructures built with components from all major international manufacturers (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, etc.) and is perfectly capable of running web applications written in Java.
Local Public Administration and reuse policies
Geoweb Framework has also been used in many projects of the Italian Local Public Administration (PAL) to develop modules and solutions in various areas, including:
- Geographic Systems (GIS);
- Infrastructure management systems;
- Systems for the management of public assets;
- Urban planning systems.
The rights to use these modules belong exclusively to the respective authors and are available through the reuse logic provided for by national regulations and through the channels indicated by AgID (Agency for Digital Italy).
Geoweb Italia Srl supports this activity by granting the basic framework (Geoweb Framework) for free use, with a specific licence:
- Local Public Administration licence: free for reused applications
